New: Activities for 2007-08 school year

Currently I am running programs at Hale, Pillsbury, Lyndale Community School, and Marcy in Minneapolis. I ran a short program at Waite Park in preparation for the students' participation in Check It Out. I also ran a program at Kenwood Elementary in the Fall semester. I am also the after school chess teacher at Jackson Elementary in Saint Paul.

Please email me if you are interested in my services.

Previous activities

I have been doing the computer work for the excellent scholastic chess tournaments run by Jeff and Veronica Harrison of Southwest Chess for the last two school years.

I also performed some of the computer work at the Check It Out Minneapolis chess tournament in February.

End of 2005-2006 School Year

Thursday and Friday, June 1 and 2 marked the end of my teaching school year. On Thursday all the students from my program shook my hand and thanked me for teaching them chess this year. That was a very nice gesture that I greatly appreciated!

On Friday I ran my last two rounds of an in-class tournament which determined clear winners for those two classes. Congratulations to both the winners!

Open Chess Tournament, Maplewood Middle School, March 18

Thank you everybody who played, promoted, and helped with the tournament, especially Carolyn and Mike! It was an enjoyable experience! The four winners in each section had a perfect score of 3.

Metropolitan Chess League, Sabathani Community Center

After three rounds, we had one student with a perfect score. Congratulations! I look forward to us making this a larger tournament in the Fall!
